We recommend the first orthodontic checkup to occur about 7-8 years of age or when the permanent incisors begin to appear. At this time, Dr. Elfman can detect developing orthodontic situations and can plan the best approach for their correction. Other conditions can be monitored and corrected more efficiently and economically later, closer to the time when all the permanent teeth are in the mouth. Unfortunately, Invisalign® is not intended for everyone, especially children and more significant orthodontic corrections.
